Right now, we as a church are in the midst of transition—we even are blessed to have a Transitional Pastor. . However, the House Church ministry will provide care to our congregation. We are told a gazillion times in scripture to “love one another”. Sometimes it’s hard to actually “love one another” in big groups—heck, it’s a challenge to learn one another’s names. In House Church we will be small groups who, ideally, will do the work of loving one another well.
Our mission statement says: To Know Jesus as Savior and Lord and to make Him Known. The vision for House Church is to create a space for this to happen: Connecting with God, Loving One another, and Building up the church …like roots that provide connection and stability to the tree.
Read Acts 2:42-47. This was the early church. Their priority was:
- Study: they were devoted to the apostles’ teaching—the pure word found in the bible.
- Fellowship: they met together in homes and shared their lives and resources. They pursued healthy relationships based on honesty.
- Eating: They broke bread together (meals & the Lord’s Supper)
- Prayer: they prayed together, they worshipped together and praised God.
